MOUNTING UP FOR MISSION

Mama Ntombi, a believer and prayer warrior from Mpumalanga, was scrolling through social media last year when she chanced upon our advertisement for Mission to Durban 2023. She was intrigued enough, at first, to volunteer as a missioner and joined the mission team. So moved was she by AE’s stratified approach to missions and the impact the we were making on communities, that it was soon on her heart that we should hold such a mission in her hometown. She was motivated that this ministry should be brought to her community and fast set about canvassing the idea with church leadership and of course liaising with our mission team.

And so was borne AE’s Bushbuckridge ERA Mission (Evangelism, Reconciliation & Action)!…all set for April 2024.

In the build-up our CEO, Theuns Pauw and our Mpumalanga associate, Mama Ntombi, facilitated Evangelism training for 150 mission volunteers in Bushbuckridge.

Theuns and Mama Ntombi also had the opportunity to minister the gospel on Bushbuckridge Radio which has a listenership of over 100,000 listeners!

The drive from Pietermaritzburg to Bushbuckridge (Mpumalanga) is some 9 hours at least; add a couple more hours to that for heavy laden vehicles and travelling in convoy. Volunteers from LIV4Change arrived at AESA headquarters early on Tuesday morning (09th April) to join the AE team before they made the long trek to Bushbuckridge (Mpumalanga).

After a round of introductions (click to watch vid); finalization of travel arrangements, announcements and travel rules; those ‘holding the fort’ at the office prayed for our mission team (of AE mission staff, Foxies and volunteers) before they hit the road on ‘Mission to Bushbuckridge’.

What an encouragement and thrill it was to see young people from all walks of life filled with energy and excitement for the opportunity to go out and minister the word of God (not forgetting of course those young at heart who were with them!).

‘but they who wait for the LORD shall renew their strength;
they shall mount up with wings like eagles;
they shall run and not be weary;
they shall walk and not faint.’
